Last week I visited Jaipur for the marriage of my friend’s son. I hired a car and a driver for the day. While I was in the car to pass time I asked the driver how much he earns. He said 6500 per month as salary and Rs 6000 as other charged. When I asked what you mean by other charges, he said that it is the same as you people earn through chemists and labs. I said what do you mean, He said this is what Aamir Khan told in the TV that every doctor gets money from a chemist and a lab for referring a patient.
“You people send your patients to a particular lab or chemist we also send our customers to a particular shop or a hotel. Aamir’s generalized statement has tarnished the image of medical profession so much that even car drivers are comparing themselves with the medical profession.
Amir Khan and some other popularity seekers on the cost of doctors are only vocal because of ignorance of public about medical profession. One who says doctors and taxiwala are same becaus both give services is a fool no doubt. Why read my blog..
Medical profession is indeed one adorable noble profession but it also requires astute character and conduct as we all know. With other interferences and no control over corporate and few hospitals there might be inadvertant eventualities which is again the job of medical pros.. but due to noncooperation from govt, police and administration the right codes haven’t been imposed although its fact most of professionals work to the character. But it’s the bad projections by people who know nothing what they are getting and have no expertise of speaking on this complex matter simply blabber out anything and make a day for themselves..
Overdemand and wrong expectation are some of other causes of society woes. still, its our responsibility to do something about this..

We can not deny the fact that many of our profession indulge in this atrocious and unlawful earning. We should not defend even our own colleagues in this issue. It is not Amir who degraded yhe profession it is our own people who had already done it due to their cheap attitude
What gives you the right to feel superior than a car driver or what is it that makes him any inferior to you. True the medical profession is a noble one. But IT IS also a profession just like a drivers or a sweepers or a lawyer or engineer. Have respect for all. Doctors are not GOD. Only when you believe this will your ego allow you to pursue a noble profession. You needed the car driver’s service as much as he would need yours someday.

BUT we should not forget its true also as some of our brothers are doing all this. Instead of criticizing amir khan we should critise our own profession fellow who are bringing down the reputation of noble profession

we agree that few doctors may be indulged in malpractice but you can not label all doctors/medical fraternity as money minded and cheaters. we doctors have always been on receiving end. after amir khan’s show ( which have made society against doctors), its high time that we all get together to clean our image and win the confidence of society.

It is correct that Amir Khan and company has tarnished the image but it is also true that few black sheep are among us. Why to react to all this and waste energy??. Everybody has its own life and conscience to act. Let us continue noble work with in our capacity. You are a gem and mile stone of modern medics.

It is a truth that many doctors are abusing the patients for their financial interest forgetting the health interest of the patients. So criticisms naturally arise as you can’t cheat many times as you will be caught.
So please don’t defend doctors who are doing it and come with a truthful opinion of requesting doctors not to do like that and suggest to look for the ultimate interest of the patient to gain their respect and confidence again.
